TRANSMISSION ID NUMBER 02 JETTA TDI

My transmission is a 5 speed manual EGR, which needs replacing. I just bought a DEA transmission from a VW shop. Owner said the DEA is a German equivalent to the EGR. Cannot find DEA on web VW transmission charts.

Can I take his word for it? Would hate to install it, and not have it fit.

P.S. I just found a site in Europe (Stevens VW) that listed DEA for Golf MK4 99-04. That is encouraging.
